What this calculator does

This calculator moves forward or backward by a chosen number of business days. Saturdays and Sundays are excluded. When the holiday option is enabled, observed U.S. federal holidays are excluded as well.

It is useful for response deadlines, payment terms, shipping estimates, project schedules, administrative notices, service-level agreements, and any situation where a deadline is stated in working days rather than calendar days.

How business days are counted

The start date itself is treated as the reference point. The calculator then moves one calendar day at a time in the selected direction and counts only eligible working days. A positive number moves forward; a negative number moves backward.

Important counting note

Contracts, courts, agencies, employers, and delivery services may use different rules for whether the starting day counts, which holidays apply, or what happens when a deadline lands on a non-working day. Use the rule specified by the organization that controls your deadline.
